< set ads on "continuous-loop" feature to run automatically at tradeshows, fairs, meetings, etc.
<  if you've done an intro talk, later you can give talks that focus on one theme or topic, e.g.,

  20. Write a letter to political leaders ... tell them about widespread coerced or unwanted abortions and other ways that abortion endangers and hurts teens and all women.

Display posters in schools, churches, offices, and elsewhere.

Hang posters or ads where permitted, on bulletin boards, in stores, libraries, schools, churches, as windshield flyers, and elsewhere (please respect local regulations about posting and distributing materials). Co-op ads and posters are available with a small space you can use to promote your organization's event, local contacts, outreach, meetings or counseling centers.

Distribute ads, bookmarks, business cards and  fact sheets as flyers.

Use as mailing inserts, e-mail or leave-behind flyers for:

  • reporters and editors

  • politicians

  • civic or religious leaders

  • students and educators at high schools, colleges and universities

  • pro-life leaders or civic leaders and activists in like-minded organizations

  • in doctors offices or hospital waiting rooms, church libraries/reading rooms or other areas, where permitted

  • at health fairs, conventions, trade shows, women’s or men's group meetings, youth group activities, bible studies, and other small or large-group gatherings

Use flyers and other materials as mailing inserts and email attachments
If you're already mailing to your group or organization, simply drop in an ad or fact sheet or the Download Free Resources Online flyer. (Or use as e-mail attachments.) The small text-only Clip Art ads (coming soon) or multimedia ads and fact sheets in monthly mailings to your group or as inserts in mailings to other groups.

Give a speech, show a video or DVD, or arrange a speaker; include handouts.

Hand out materials or folders with selected ads and fact sheets

Simply schedule and introduce a video, speaker or prayer vigil and hand out materials like our list of free downloadable resources, the Coerced Abortion Flyer, a list of ways to help, or other fact sheets and ads. Use your local civic or church group, or other venue. Use small ads and bulletin inserts and send press releases to your local news outlets, and elsewhere promoting the event.

Invite a member of a post-abortion ministry to speak

To find a speaker in your area, refer to local post-abortion counseling ministries or to our healing page for national organizations that can refer you to nearby affiliates, leaders and participants who are willing to speak to groups.

Use the radio and TV ads

Consider opening your talk or event with an UnChoice TV or radio ad to capture attention and to tell people about the campaign/outreach and materials. For further ideas, watch for our speech outline and Power Point slides, coming soon, and other new information at TheUnChoice.com.

Refer people to TheUnChoice.com often, and distribute the Free Resources promotional flyer to others who are willing to help.

Promote your event, ministry or outreach with co-op versions of ads and posters

A subset of Co-op Ads and Posters have a boxed-in area for local contact information.  Whether it's a seminar, a prayer service, a video presentation, or a booth at a women's health fair ... there are many places where you can use an ad to capture attention and promote local messages, counseling or outreach ministries. This can be targeted less specifically, such as offering help or prayer for pregnancy-associated loss, such as miscarriage, abortion or SIDS, to more specific post-abortion counseling outreach. In the latter case, confidentiality is often a concern, so you may want to promote your information in nearby cities or via regional and state events or publications. Please see the Terms of Use page for exact specification requirements for using the co-op materials.

Assemble information kits for media, leaders, and other gatekeepers.

Combine selected fact sheets, ads, and other resources into one "Info Kit" folder or tabbed binder with sections for:  Research and Facts, Ads, and Notes.  In versions for pro-life committees or activists, include a section for suggested activities.

Use it for personal presentations and/or leave-behinds. Or, deliver it to:

  • editors, reporters

  • legislators, candidates and political activists

  • pastors, counselors and other religious and outreach leaders.

  • students, school librarians, educators, high school and college activists

Encourage them to write or speak about this issue. Provide sample ads and facts to draw curiosity and prompt coverage.

You can also assemble a kit for yourself or your organization to use as your own easy-reference guide.

Share materials with student-activists.

Youth are most at risk for abortion!  It is urgent that we warn parents, teachers, counselors, teens, college students and others. As you read this, there are people contemplating abortion or even post-abortion suicide.  Let them know they are not alone and that positive, compassionate options are available. Share materials with youth groups and student organizations. Display materials in classrooms, libraries or elsewhere.

Share these resources with young pro-lifers who can spread the word at school events, in chat rooms, youth groups and elsewhere. Refer them to www.UnChoice.info.

Share the Teen Abortion Risks (coming soon) fact sheet and selected ads with schools, youth groups and student activists.

Purchase low-cost ads in local trade publications, newspaper, radio, etc.

Create a simple advertising media plan

Before purchasing ads, read Ads 101 - 6 Tips to find the right media and placement options to get the best results per dollar. Remember that exhaustive repetition - at least 6 times per ad -- and consistency are powerful and essential fundamentals of effective advertising!

Your plan can include ads in low-cost local media, with Clip-Art text-only display ads (coming soon). These can be run in church bulletins, low-cost local publications or as text-only classified ads. A small ad can direct people to www.UnChoice.info for an introduction to this issue. Here are just a few of the many ad placement possibilities:

  • Daily or weekly local newspapers

  • College campus newspapers and magazines

  • Newsletters – corporate or private associations

  • Special interest or city magazines

  • Weekly women's magazines

  • National conservative news magazines or mailings

  • Christian magazines and journals

  • Small one-inch or smaller internet banner ads or buttons on Christian, conservative or pro-life web sites

  • Church bulletins, inserts or mailings

  • Trade magazines or mailings

  • Professional organizations or other groups' newsletters

Use fact sheets and flyers in sidewalk counseling or other ministries.

The Key Facts fact sheet, 10 Quick Facts and Download Free Resources Online flyer, Coerced Abortion flyer, and Physical and Psychological Risks are good ways to introduce people to the risks of abortion and healing alternatives. The Research Summary Booklet and other fact sheets are good support materials for Pregnancy Resource Centers, sidewalk counseling, post-abortion outreach, church ministries and other outreach efforts.

Write Letters to the Editor for newspapers and magazines.

A very effective way to influence politicians and the public!  Incorporate facts and stories from www.UnChoice.info into your letters. Ask why we're still calling abortion a "choice" when:

  • most abortions are unwanted or coerced, coercion can escalate and it can be direct or indirect, such as deceptive information from experts, withdrawal of emotional and financial support or housing, job loss or personal and professional coercion that can come from social workers, school principals, employers, landlords or even pastors

  • most abortions are based on non-support and inadequate information …

  • abortion clinics provide little or no screening for coercion or known risk factors …

  • many abortion clinics practice assembly-line "medicine" and put profits before the health and well-being of patients

  • abortion often results in trauma and injury

  • abortion is followed by high rates of clinical depression, trauma and death

Insert facts and quotes from our materials, including 10 Key Facts, Key Facts, Coerced Abortion Flyer, Forced Abortion in America, Hard Cases: New Facts. New Answers, or the Unwanted, Unsafe, and Unfair sections of this web site.

Refer readers to www.TheUnChoice.com to learn more. You can also share information in chat rooms, blogs or on other web sites. And, as always, write in a respectful, informational tone that simply encourages others to learn more about coerced, unwanted abortions and the serious aftereffects of abortion.

Multiply the impact by sending your Letter to the Editor to your Legislators, too.

Copy the same text into a letter or email to your legislator. Or, if the newspaper prints your letter, send copies to your legislators and to friends, family, associations or other groups, and local or state leaders.

Urge your elected officials to support policies that protect the authentic rights of women, including model legislation consistent with this strategy. Also, share a copy of our booklet: Hard Cases. New Facts. New Answers, so political leaders have a compassionate response to sensitive questions about sexual assault pregnancy and abortion. Abortion is unwanted, unsafe and unfair for women in these circumstances. Studies show that they do not want abortion. Share the Petition for Hearings regarding sexual assault pregnancy and abortion (included in the Hard Cases booklet).

Run the UnChoice radio and TV ads as free PSAs.

Many Christian and conservative broadcasters will run radio and TV ads as community-service Public Service Announcements (PSAs) free of charge.

Provide resources to educators, librarians and students.

Our materials, including our research summaries, fact sheets, and books, are valuable tools for social science, civic and religious education or special seminars and classes for students or adults.

You or your organization could also donate a copy of Detrimental Effects of Abortion: An Annotated Bibliography. This comprehensive, well-organized 264-page directory lists available research with brief, easy-reference summaries. Donate copies to libraries and schools for reference.
